The Icebreaker Challenge: Introduce yourself. Tell us why you're doing the challenge, and what you hope to gain from it. 

I'm MerricatB, and this is my first time participating. I guess I'm looking to interact more with people with similar interests. I'm relatively new to Dreamwidth and the fandom scene and primarily interested in Sense8 (fanfic, videos, whatever you've got for me I'm desperate for content--if you're into Sense8 come talk to me, I will never shut up about it). Other things I'm into to a lesser extent are Interview with the Vampire (AMC), Our Flag Means Death, Hannibal (NBC), writing in general and fanfic specifically, LGBT rights, dunking on this idiotic country (USAmerican unfortuantely).

Sense8 was a great show! I was never really fannish about it, but loved it.

I wasn't fannish about it until several years ago and now I'm INSANE about it.

The Vampire Lestat is going to be off the hinges. Cannot wait!

I've never seen Sense8 - is that on Netflix? I do love Our Flag Means Death, and I seem to see it posted about pretty often around here.

Yes, Netflix. It was one of their first BIG cancellations, and fans rallied to get them to bend the knee and allow a proper finale. It's a great show about human connection and queer joy if you're into that sort of thing. By the creators of the Matrix and Babylon 5 but somewhat light on the sci-fi aspect.

I've never seen sense8 and wondered if it a current series or an older one. And if you could point me to where I can stream it, that would help. It sounds interesting. Will give it a look-see. Great intro.

The movie was great! I prefer the series though honestly. And I did read some of the books when I was in high school but they get extremely bizarre as the series goes along.

Yes, it's still on Netflix. They produced it which unfortunately means they still hold the rights.

You should! During comicon the cast even talked about how "everything about the show was anti-trump" which is a great selling point. If only we hadn't elected that orange idiot TWICE.
