30 Question Sense8 Challenge

1 First Encounter With This Series (i.e. how you discovered it, first episode you watched, etc…)

I was initially interested in Sense8 because I loved Naveen Andrews in Lost (even though I never finished it). By the end of the first episode I was hooked.

2 The Moment That Made You Fall in Love with this Series

Probably when Sun takes over for Capheus in episode 3, and then the What's Up sing-along cemented it forever in episode 4.

3 Favorite Female Character

Within the cluster it's a toss up between Sun and Kala, but Sun knows martial arts and beats up a lot of men who deserve it (and some who enjoy it), so I gotta go with Sun. Outside of the cluster, Amanita. The best girlfriend/fiancée/wife ever.

4 Favorite Male Character

In the cluster, Wolfgang. My angry little German maniac. Outside the cluster, Felix. Ride or die loyalty and they're basically soulmates in a platonic way.

5 Favorite Romance/Rivalry

Wolfgang/Kala/Rajan. I just adore that they turned the love triangle into a poly relationship and it made me like all three characters even more than I originally did.

6 Least Favorite Female Character

In the main cluster, Riley. Nothing against her except for her questionable taste in friends, I just prefer the other three. Outside of the cluster, Janet Marks. What a heinous bitch. Get that woman some weed brownies stat!

7 Least Favorite Male Character

Main cluster, Will. Sorry Will, I'm not down with all the copaganda. Outside the cluster, Joong-Ki. What a sniveling little twat. It's so satisfying to see him get beaten bloody.

8 Least Favorite Romance/Rivalry

Will/Riley. I find them so wholesome and dull.

9 Funniest Moment

Rajan demanding to be told what's going on and then cut to his stunned face, with a bonus of Bug smiling and nodding in that adorably creepy way. And of course Lito's period meltdown in his car. I see you villain!

10 Saddest Moment

Ooooh this one is so hard. Felix getting shot, Wolfgang dreaming about his mom, Capheus' sister, Nomi in the locker room, Riley's whole thing, Will's dad OMG, but Sun is my girl and I'm an animal lover so I gotta go with her saying goodbye to her dog.

11 Something You Wish Hadn’t Happened

I wish I hadn't been shown graphic footage of babies coming out of vaginas.

12 Something You Wished Would Happen But Never Did

That we'd get our planned 5 seasons! Or at least 3.

13 A Song That Reminds You of this Series

Easy. What's Up, 4 Non Blondes.

14 Favorite Villain

The clown school triad of ridiculously campy villains: Superpower, Steiner, and Joaquin. These guys have such a flair for the dramatic and steal every scene they're in. If I had to pick just one, I'd go with Superpower because he had a redemption arc and saved Capheus' life. Plus he voted for him and voting is important.

15 A Character Everybody Else Loves That You Hate

Hate is a strong word, but Diego. He was better in season two at least when they changed him from a typical dudebro cop into a family man. He and Will didn't even seem like besties in season one. Diego came across as a more experienced cop who was frustrated with his weird, moralistic partner. And season one Diego would've absolutely let that kid die if Will wasn't there. Sorry.

16 A Character Everybody Else Hates That You Love

I wouldn't say everybody hates him, but Rajan got ripped to shreds in the early days of fandom and still gets a LOT of hate for just existing and loving his wife.

17 The Character You Love To Hate

Lila. I wanna punch her adorable little face.

18 The Top Three Things on Your To-Do List if You Suddenly Found Yourself in the Series

If I were a sensate, probably 1) find blockers 2) find more blockers 3) take up heroin if I can't find blockers. Realistically there are many perks but I don't even like being in my own head, much less having seven others there.

19 A “Ship” in the Fandom You Can’t Stand (canon or non-canon; of characters or actors)

I've seen Diego/Will floating around in fandom and that's a no from me dawg. Hard pass.

20 The Worst Fanfic You’ve Ever Read of this Series (include links if possible)

Oh no this question is so mean absolutely not. This series is why I got into fanfic to begin with, and trashing other people's work is never cool. The back button is there for a reason. Don't like, don't read. Instead I will offer a fic I loved that includes basically everybody: and i hold the world in my embrace by millepertuis; and my absolute favorite fanvid that I've watched probably a million times by now: Synchronicity [Fanvid] by Tafadhali.

21 On a Scale from Secret Admirer to Panty-Sniffer, How Obsessed Are You with this Series?

I'm in that dirty hamper taking big whiffs and getting pink-eye. I need professional help.

22 The Character You’d Want as a Drinking Buddy

Felix! Not that I really drink anymore but he'd be a blast.

Not interested in the fucking part but I'd join Dani in the audience.

24 The Character You Find Most Relatable

Kala. Overthinking analytical type getting in her own way and avoiding emotions, yeah that tracks.

25 Favorite Object/Prop

Rocket launcher. So glad it made a comeback.

26 Favorite Costume

Gotta go with the tourist outfits, in particular the color coordination between Wolfgang, Rajan, Kala & Felix, plus Sun & Mun. With a special shoutout to Lito's onesie.

27 Favorite Quote

"I'm growing accustomed to a certain lifestyle, you're going to have to keep murdering gangsters for me." That just encapsulates Felix and Wolfgang's entire relationship and I LOVE it.

28 Favorite Climax (i.e. series finale, battle, conclusion of a subplot, etc…)

The entirety of the series finale is so FUN! When I don't have two and a half hours to spend: Lito lying to save Wolfgang from Steiner & Wolfgang coming to Lito (and Dani's) rescue with Joaquin.

29 A Moment That Made You Question Whether You Would Continue Reading/Watching…

The birthing montage. I'm still traumatized.

30 Will Anything Ever Replace this Series for You?

Doubtful, but hyperfixations are finicky like that.

You should! Someone else is paying for mine which is the only reason I still have it. But considering how many times I watch this show, I'd have to start sailing the high seas if I lost my account.
